Celio and Pimkie, candidates for the takeover of around a hundred Jennyfer stores

Jennyfer's 999 employees have little hope. Despite the submission of partial takeover bids on Tuesday, May 13, the staff of the brand, which has been in receivership since April 30, are at risk of facing one of the largest layoffs in the sector. Nearly 700 jobs could be eliminated as a result of this process.
For now, Jennyfer is only the subject of partial takeover bids. The largest is being jointly made by the Celio retailer and Pimkie shareholder Salih Hallassi. Both are proposing to take over around fifty of the 220 branches operated by Jennyfer. The menswear retailer is reportedly planning to acquire seven of these stores, either to "transform" them into Celio stores or to convert them into the mixed men's and women's fashion brand that the retailer has been developing since acquiring the Camaïeu brand, according to our information.
In December 2022, two months after the permanent closure of 550 Camaïeu stores, resulting in the loss of 2,600 jobs, Celio acquired the women's fashion brand at auction for €1.8 million. Then, at Celio's headquarters in Saint-Ouen (Seine-Saint-Denis), a team of designers was tasked with creating a collection of basic clothing, including striped sweaters produced in France at the Marcoux-Lafay factory in the Loire region. The first collections have been on sale in a dozen Celio stores in France since June 2024 and in Spain since March 2025.
