This summer in Toulon, Le KO du rire is back with its festival at the Tour Royale

When an event works, why not try it again? Julien and Olivier Llorca didn't hesitate for a second before launching into organizing the second edition of the KO du rire festival. "The town hall, as soon as the event ended last September, told us they were ready to do it again. We were obviously delighted with their trust."
It must be said that the two stand-up evenings at the Tour Royale were packed. "We even had to turn some people away. Tickets sold out very quickly. It was a bit heartbreaking ," explains Julien. As a result, in 2025, there will be not two but three evenings. Not enough to increase the pressure on the laugh-making duo. More like a way to prolong the fun.
"There are, in total, thirty comedians that the public will be able to see on stage. Ten each evening," explains Olivier, who will once again officiate as master of ceremonies. They will each have about eight minutes of show to present. "We have only chosen new people compared to last year. The idea is really to give everyone a chance. Moreover, 90% of those you will see come from the region. We mix some beginners with more experienced artists." Among the most well-known are Laurent Febvay, Greg interdite, Baba Rudy and Jean-Marc Nichanian .
All styles of humor represented"Each time, we try to offer a wide range of comedy styles. Our only requirement is to maintain a family atmosphere." Another hallmark of KO du rire is conviviality. It's a concept that's very close to the Llorca brothers' hearts. It's even a mantra. "We apply it to all our comedy club evenings, especially at Petit Chicago. It's very important to create a connection with the audience. It creates a special atmosphere that's conducive to laughter."
The doors to the Royal Tower will open around 6 p.m. This will allow everyone to have a drink and chat before the performance.
"A fantastic setting and reasonable prices"For this second edition, Olivier and Julien have invested in upgrading their equipment. This is particularly true of equipment. "We've upgraded our sound and lighting, in particular. And we're also expanding our on-site catering offerings."
The festival's biggest draw is undoubtedly its setting: the majestic Royal Tower. "It's a real treat to be here. The setting is fantastic." Another highlight of the event: the cost of tickets. "We keep the prices reasonable. Tickets cost 20 euros, and there are even three-day passes."
And what's next? "We're continuing what we love to do," the duo says. In just two years of existence, the KO du rire association continues to grow.
