Jura: Fishermen have noticed an explosion in poaching this summer

They fish by hand, with harpoons, in reserves or on dry land, in teams and with lookouts. The Jura Fishermen's Federation is categorical: never before this summer had it observed such an explosion of poaching in the department. A phenomenon impossible to measure precisely and against which it is very difficult to combat.

There are several types of summer poaching. "There's the guy who's out there, out for a walk, who doesn't have a fishing license and who ignores it because he'd love to eat a trout," explains Roland Brunet, president of the departmental fishing federation. But it's not this type of behavior that worries him. It's rather the highly organized, almost professional version that poses a problem.
