Horses mutilated in Normandy: one animal killed and several injured in a new series of attacks, what we know

"Five horses were attacked. One died, the other four were injured, one of whom lost an eye," explained Soizic Guillaume, the Public Prosecutor of Le Havre. According to the magistrate, these incidents are not isolated. "For several weeks, the jurisdiction of the Le Havre District Court has been dealing with the commission of serious abuse and acts of cruelty resulting in the death of horses."
Since the beginning of summer, several attacks have indeed been observed. On June 15, horses were found mutilated in a meadow in Angerville-l'Orcher, between Le Havre and Étretat. One female had both eyes gouged out.
In mid-July, a 21-year-old pony was found mutilated in her field in the commune of Angerville-l'Orcher. Visible lacerations, an injured eye, and deep wounds: the animal had not survived.
