UEFA fines Barça €60 million for breaching financial regulations

A €60 million fine. That's the amount UEFA has imposed on Barça for violating financial fair play rules after analyzing the financial statements for 2023 and 2024, in which the organization prevented the accounting of a whole series of transactions, including asset sales, transfers between related clubs, and swaps , as revenue.
Of that amount, however, only 15 million euros are mandatory for now. The remaining 45 million euros will only be paid if the club chaired by Joan Laporta fails to meet a series of conditions agreed upon with European football's governing body. An agreement that, according to sources within the Barcelona team, was reportedly reached during the Nations League final between Spain and Portugal in Munich.
Barcelona, in fact, is one of six clubs sanctioned for this reason by UEFA. Chelsea, Aston Villa, Olympique Lyonnais, Porto, and Hajduk Split are the other European clubs sanctioned by the organization chaired by Aleksander Ceferin.
The agreement reached by Barça entails restrictions on the registration of new players on its A list for European competitions, which could become even more stringent if the agreed-upon financial targets for the coming years are not met.
The club, chaired by Joan Laporta, will also be subject to an annual audit of its accounts, which also includes potential sporting sanctions, such as exclusion from various UEFA competitions, in the event of non-compliance.
