The Tigers make a strong statement

A world champion begins to shine in the Leagues Cup.
Argentine Ángel Correa scored a double (45' and 70') and the Tigres defeated the Houston Dynamo 4-1 in their debut in this tournament with teams from Liga MX and MLS.
Diego Lainez (63') and Ozziel Herrera (97') also scored for the Mexican team. Czech Ondrej Lingr pulled one back in the 47th minute.
The match began with Dynamo dominating. However, the Mexican team leveled the score and finished the first half with 62 percent possession.
In the 36th minute, Édgar "Gacelo" López missed a clear chance after a pass from Correa. In stoppage time, Juan Brunetta set up the Argentine, who finished to open the scoring.
Just after the second half began, the Dynamo tied the score after a mistake by the Tigers. From that moment on, the Houston defense showed a lack of focus. In the 63rd minute, a poor clearance by goalkeeper Jonathan Bond was taken advantage of by Lainez, who fired home the second. Seven minutes later, Correa received a ball inside the box, eluded a defender, and scored his second goal of the night.
In added time, Ozziel Herrera sealed the score with a shot after an assist from Juan Pablo Vigón.
