Jamal Musiala is preparing for a long layoff: this is the diagnosis after his injury at the Club World Cup.

The news isn't good for Bayern Munich midfielder Jamal Musiaia, who was injured in his team's 2-0 Club World Cup quarterfinal loss to Paris Saint-Germain in Atlanta, USA.
Musiala's injury occurred in a relatively inconsequential play in first-half stoppage time. The striker was chasing a ball in the French box when he collided with goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, who dived to the ground to make a powerful save.

The German newspaper Bild has obtained the official diagnosis of Musiala's injury, and the situation is not encouraging. According to the outlet, cited by Marca, he has "a fracture to the fibula of his left leg, with damage to the ankle ligaments."
Musiala is expected to be sidelined for at least five months, meaning he will be unable to play for virtually all of the remainder of 2025.

After their young star was stretchered off, Bayern eventually lost 2-0 to the reigning European champions in Atlanta.
Musiala was immediately surrounded by numerous players and medical staff, after which the referee blew his whistle for halftime. He was replaced by Serge Gnabry with the match tied at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Musiala, 22, returned to the starting lineup on Saturday after several months of muscle problems.
Bayern and PSG coaches' voices after Jamal Musiaia's injury "Jamal's situation was very emotional. We all saw what happened; he didn't look good. We hope it's not too serious and that he makes the best recovery possible," said Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany.
"It was tough. I've rarely been so angry at halftime, not at my players, but because for these young guys, football is their life. A kid like Jamal lives for this," he recalled.

"My blood boils right now because this happened to a kid who loves this sport and is so important to our team," he emphasized.
PSG coach Luis Enrique, meanwhile, began his appearance with a message of encouragement to Musiala.
"I want to wish him a speedy recovery. It was already clear on the pitch that it was a difficult play and he was very unlucky because (Donnarumma) fell on top of him," Luis Enrique said. "It was clearly demonstrated that there was no malicious intent," he insisted.
German football was left without representatives at the Club World Cup, having reached two quarterfinals. In addition to Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund was eliminated this Saturday, losing 3-2 to Real Madrid in a thrilling match.
