Grisham hits two more home runs as the Yankees win

Adam Frazier hit a two-run homer in the eighth inning to give the Kansas City Royals a 7-5 victory over Seattle on Sunday, snapping the Mariners' 10-game winning streak at Kauffman Stadium.

Venezuelan Eugenio Suárez snapped a 0-for-32 losing streak with four hits, two RBIs, and two runs scored for Seattle, which, with Houston's victory, fell a half-game behind the American League West-leading Astros.

Trent Grisham homered twice and drove in four runs, Aaron Judge went 3-for-4 and improved his major league-leading .329 to a 10-5 victory over the Minnesota Twins in Minneapolis. Cody Bellinger also homered for New York, which maintains its two-game lead in the AL wild-card spot.

In Phoenix, Christian Koss hit a two-run double in a five-run 11th inning, and the San Francisco Giants beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-1 to end a four-game losing streak. San Francisco overcame a nine-inning, one-hit start by Brandon Pfaadt and, with a 76-76 record, closed to within two games of the Mets, who later fell to San Diego.

Center fielder Chandler Simpson robbed Mexican Alejandro Kirk of a three-run home run and then hit an RBI single as the Tampa Bay Rays beat the Toronto Blue Jays 2-1 in St. Petersburg. The AL East-leading Blue Jays had their six-game winning streak snapped. The Rays led 1-0 in the fourth, and the Blue Jays had runners on second and third with no outs when Kirk hit a deep fly ball to center field at Steinbrenner Field. Simpson leaped and made a diving catch over the wall, turning a potential home run into a sacrifice fly.

In Milwaukee, Brandon Woodruff pitched five strong innings, Sal Frelick hit a three-run homer, and Blake Perkins matched his career high with five RBIs to lead the Brewers to a 9-2 victory over the Los Angeles Angels. Woodruff (7-2) allowed only two hits and one run.

Dominican Marcell Ozuna drove in three runs, Matt Olson hit a solo home run and the Atlanta Braves completed a four-game sweep by defeating the Washington Nationals 9-4.

Dylan Beavers homered, Tyler Wells pitched six effective innings, and the Baltimore Orioles beat the White Sox 3-1 at home. Beavers, one of Baltimore's top prospects, hit a two-run homer in the fourth inning off Martin Perez (1-6).

Spencer Steer homered and drove in five runs, helping Brady Singer and the Cincinnati Reds beat the St. Louis Cardinals 6-2. The Reds (76-76) hope to rally for the NL's third wild card in the final days of the season.

In Boston, pinch-hitter Nick Sogard hit an infield grounder in the tenth inning off Michael Kelly to drive in Nate Eaton for the winning run, and the Red Sox beat the Athletics 5-4. For the eleventh time this season, the Red Sox left their opponents on the field. Red Sox Trevor Story, who stole a base in the sixth inning, was caught trying to steal a base in the eighth. It was the first time he had been caught after 31 consecutive successful steals.

MANNY MACHADO hit a tiebreaking grand slam in the fifth inning, and the San Diego Padres beat the New York Mets 7-4 in a matchup of playoff-bound teams. The Padres entered the game two games behind the NL West-leading Dodgers.

New York remained a game and a half ahead of Arizona for the final playoff spot.
