The trick to remove Meta AI from WhatsApp and stop seeing the blue circle in your chats

Meta has been integrating its artificial intelligence into all of its apps for months, and WhatsApp has been no exception. Mark Zuckerberg's company introduced Meta AI in September 2023 as its conversational assistant with search functions, text and image generation, and real-time recommendations. It first arrived in the United States and some English-speaking countries, but in April of this year it began rolling out in Spain , appearing directly in the WhatsApp chat tray with an identifying blue circle .
Meta's goal is for users to use this AI as an additional contact within the app , allowing them to request information, create images with prompts , or quickly resolve questions without leaving the conversation. However, not all users are comfortable with this new feature: many have been surprised to find the blue icon in their chat list without having activated it themselves and are looking for a way to deactivate it, or at least hide it .
The bad news is that, for now, WhatsApp doesn't officially allow you to disable Meta AI . There's no button in the settings or a clear option in the menu to disable the feature. The good news is that there is a very simple trick to make the conversation disappear from your screen so that the artificial intelligence doesn't bother you every time you open the app.
How to remove Meta AI from WhatsApp on iPhone and AndroidAccording to German media outlet GameStar , you can delete or archive conversations with Meta AI, whether you have an Android or iPhone, but the steps are different. If you have a phone with Google's operating system, all you have to do is long press on the chat and, once selected, tap the trash can icon to confirm the deletion.
However, if you have a phone from the company with the bitten apple, you'll have to swipe the conversation with Meta AI to the left and select "Delete." That is, you can simply delete it like a normal chat, since the option to disable the button is still not available in Europe for now.
If you prefer, you can also select the "Archive" option, just like you would with any other conversation on both Android and iPhone, and thus remove it from your main conversations. It's expected to arrive soon, but for now, it's the only option to remove it from our chats.
