Mental health forum to be held in Villavicencio

To give you a front-row seat and discuss the issue with experts who will help break down stigmas and identify suitable and appropriate access and services, EL TIEMPO, LLANO SIETE DÍAS, and the firms Belisario SAS and the Renovar Clinic will hold the forum “Mental Health, It’s Time to Talk” at the Potenza Business and Enterprise Center in Villavicencio tomorrow, Friday, starting at 7:30 a.m.
Aware of the urgent need to raise awareness, understand, and address the challenges posed by mental health, this forum was created to reflect, discuss, and propose solutions from a comprehensive and regional perspective.

The forum will address topics that directly affect citizens' quality of life, ranging from the current mental health situation in the Llanos Orientales region and ongoing institutional actions to the challenges of the workplace, the impact of technology and nutrition on young people's school life, and the link between mental health and legal protection.
The forum will open with a short video in which the President of the Supreme Court of Justice, Octavio Augusto Tejeiro Duque, will greet the forum participants and attendees. The forum will then begin with a presentation by Belisario SAS, a firm of lawyers and consultants specializing in labor law and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS). Belisario Velásquez, its president and founder, will give a presentation on Psychosocial Risk Management and the challenges facing employers in the face of mental health and new approaches to prevention.
The forum's first panel , moderated by Ernesto Cortés, editor-in-chief of EL TIEMPO, will provide an overview of the region and what's being done to address the issue. The panel will feature academic panelists and representatives from the Meta region's health and education departments. This panel will also feature the presentation "Mental Health and Legal Protection," by Clara Inés López Dávila, president of the Labor Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice, and Rosario Lozano Peña, a professional nurse and health administrator with specializations in bioneuroemotion and neurolinguistic programming, from the Renovar Clinic.

The second panel , moderated by Aura Saavedra, editor of Digital and Premium Content at EL TIEMPO, will focus on listening to young people and seeking joint work proposals. The panelists will include the young influencer and entrepreneur, Juliana Pinzón , who also overcame mental health problems with critical states of anxiety and depression, the Delegate Ombudsman for the Good Future of Youth and the Protection of the Right to Sport at the Ombudsman's Office, Iván Palomino, and the representative to the Chamber Olga Lucía Velásquez (Author of the new mental health law).
Another attraction of the forum will be the participation, through a video, of neurosurgeon William Omar Contreras López , who led the intervention to treat a mixed anxiety disorder and resistant depression through deep brain stimulation, and of the patient, Lorena Rodríguez Moreno , who is the first person to be surgically intervened in the country by Dr. Contreras, to treat anxiety and depression.
EL TIEMPO Y LLANO SIETEDÍAS is grateful for the great reception of the event, having reached and exceeded the permitted capacity of the auditorium (500 registered people) and to ensure that more people can attend and be part of this forum, EL TIEMPO.com will be broadcasting live on its social networks so that no one is left out of this conversation about mental health.
