Health exceeds the goal for National Vaccination Week

Speaking at President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo's press conference this morning, the head of the Ministry of Health (SSa), David Kershenobich, reported that the goal for National Vaccination Week, held from April 26 to May 3, was exceeded, with 2.3 million children vaccinated.

The Secretary of Health said the goal is to reach 95% of children vaccinated, as this is the best preventive measure against diseases such as measles and whooping cough.

"The goal we expected to happen that week was exceeded; 120% of the target was reached, and 2.3 million children were vaccinated. This is very significant progress and is part of the vaccination strategy that is not limited to National Vaccination Week alone." said.

"There's still enough vaccine," Kershenobich said, confident that the goal of 90% of children protected can be reached.

"We want to reach 95% of children vaccinated because that's the best preventive measure, precisely for diseases that are emerging worldwide, such as measles and whooping cough."
