Prosperidad Social begins payment of the eighth cycle of "Youth in Peace" for more than 15,000 beneficiaries in vulnerable situations in Colombia.

The Department of Social Prosperity announced the start of payments for the eighth round of transfers under the "Jóvenes en Paz" program, corresponding to the month of August 2025.
The program, led by the Ministry of Equality and Equity, seeks to offer comprehensive care pathways to prevent young people from falling into the dynamics of violence or crime.
In addition, the subsidy promotes engagement in educational, employment, and community processes. The state entity, as the head of the social inclusion sector, administers the monetary transfer component, which seeks to incentivize participation in training and employment activities.

To qualify, young people must meet the conditions established in Decree 1649 of 2023:
- Be between 14 and 28 years old.
- Possess an identity document issued by a Colombian entity.
- Being in a situation of extreme poverty, poverty or monetary vulnerability.
- Reside in rural areas or territories affected by armed conflict.
- Being, having been, or being at risk of being a victim of violence, forced recruitment, or sexual exploitation.
- Not having a valid arrest warrant .
This program benefits 15,962 young people in different regions of the country and represents an investment of 19.856 billion pesos . With this delivery, the government reaffirms its commitment to providing opportunities to vulnerable youth and contributing to peacebuilding in the regions.
Likewise, the departments with the highest number of participants include Chocó (5,471), Nariño (2,084), Antioquia (1,699), and Valle del Cauca (1,352) . Beneficiaries are also registered in Bogotá, Cesar, Cauca, Cundinamarca, Risaralda, Norte de Santander, and Caldas, among others.

According to the announcement from Social Prosperity, cash transfer payment cycles will resume according to the regular schedule. Please note the key dates below:
- The transfer for August will be made on Tuesday, September 23.
- Cycle 9, corresponding to September, will be delivered on October 10.
- Cycle 10, corresponding to October, will be paid on October 30.
The organization has called on beneficiaries to stay informed through its official channels to avoid becoming victims of fraud.

Interested applicants must complete a minimum number of hours of attendance at entrepreneurship, peace pedagogy, and financial education courses , in addition to community service sessions.
Please note that the amount received depends on the percentage of compliance with the requirements. With that in mind, the following would be the income received:
- 100%: 1,000,000 pesos.
- Less than 70%: no financial incentive is provided.
Consequently, the project seeks to offer alternatives to young people from vulnerable communities so they can opt for education instead of falling into illegal economies.
For the government, it is a strategic means of social inclusion and reconciliation that strengthens the social fabric in the regions most affected by the conflict.
