Ignacio San Millán will challenge Andrés Hernando for the presidency of the Burgos employers' association.

The treasurer of the Confederation of Business Associations of Burgos, Ignacio San Millán, will announce his candidacy for the presidency of the employers' association tomorrow, Tuesday. The CEO of Hiperbaric, Andrés Hernando, is also running for the position.
San Millán's candidacy, which will be announced at a press conference this Tuesday, comes just days after current President Miguel Ángel Benavente withdrew from the electoral race following accusations made by his other contender, Andrés Hernando, president of the Federation of Metal Companies (Femebur), about irregularities in the electoral process.
San Millán has been one of Benavente's closest associates, so his candidacy appears to be the official sector's response to Hernando's emergence.
San Millán is the head of the Burgos Logistics Development Association and heads Asercomex Logistics. and several companies linked to the sector, and is also one of the promoters of the new freight train that will connect Burgos with Valencia , a strategic project that seeks to strengthen the city's role as a logistics hub.
Until now, he served as treasurer of FAE and is a member of its Management Committee. He maintains a close relationship with Miguel Ángel Benavente. In 2019, he received the FAE Gold Award, the employers' association's highest recognition, for his business career.
