Negro Fest 2025 in Bogotá: Learn the date, location, and everything you need to know to enjoy the Afro-American music, food, and culture event.
The second edition of Negro Fest 2025 arrives in Bogotá with a program that goes beyond the show. It is a cultural festival that celebrates Afro-Colombian heritage through music, fashion, and entrepreneurship.
The show will take place on Sunday, September 28th, at the Compensar Jubilee Plaza, located on 68th Avenue. The event will run from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. More than 2,000 people are expected to attend, enjoying a day filled with music, oral tradition, fashion, and gastronomy.
Fabio Arboleda, creator and director of the festival, explained to the newspaper El Espectador that this initiative emerged in Medellín in 2017, inspired by what he calls “a new black renaissance ” in Colombia.

Negro Fest emerged as a space to give visibility to Afro-descendant processes, artists, and entrepreneurs in a cultural landscape that has historically rendered them invisible. Being Black in Colombia is a political act, and this festival is part of that declaration,” he told the outlet.
This year's lineup features artists and DJs from genres such as reggaeton, dancehall, rap, chirimía, Afrobeats, and ranchera, including Apache, Rancho Aparte, Queens Tafari, Rayo & Toby, Eichem, and DJ Afrika.

Music and fashion on one stage
Additionally, the audience will be able to participate in dance battles, which will take place on the main stage, where dance organizations will compete with their performances.
Likewise, the "Black Nation Black Catwalk" will be held for the first time, bringing together 16 fashion, accessory, and craft brands from the Afro-Colombian creative industries.
The "Black Market" will also offer fashion, jewelry, food, and music, with five culinary ventures participating in the Kumbé fair.

Arboleda concludes by extending the invitation. “ We decided to redefine the word 'black' and turn it into a source of pride. For us, black is beautiful. That's why the Black Market, the Black Catwalk, and this festival exist, which is already part of the Afro-Colombian renaissance.”
