J Balvin dressed up as a street artist in New York to promote his new album, 'Mixteip.'

In recent days, Colombian singer J Balvin has taken social media by storm after sharing a video of himself in costume, walking the streets of New York while promoting his new album, "Mixteip."

While it's a signature act for the artist to wear superhero costumes, on this occasion he was seen wearing a wig, shorts, glasses, and a cap to give the impression that he was an emerging artist making his music known.

In the recording circulating on various digital platforms, the native of Paisa and Miguel Henao, one of his team members, can be seen introducing themselves to the people traveling on a tourist bus in the city.

"Do you like Spanish music?" Balvin asked the passengers in the vehicle. One of the women agreed to listen to the songs as long as they weren't Christmas songs.

Moments later, the reggaeton singer's companion said, "I present to you Yong Bambi, an emerging artist." To the astonished gazes of some, the artist began singing "Baby Shark."

Shortly after, the man from Paisa and his friend got off the bus to talk to the tourists they met on the street. "The new face of urban music," they commented. However, several pedestrians refused to pay attention to him.

During one of the conversations, the Colombian asked a woman to search for his new album, "Mixteip," on Spotify, but unaware that he was a famous artist, the woman confessed that she listened to very little urban music.

In the middle of her story, she mentioned that she knew some reggaeton singers like Maluma . A few seconds later, she looked the "Mi Gente" singer in the eye and told him she had a "resemblance to him," but also to "Jimmy Balvin."

Although the moment was amusing due to the woman's confusion, the man from Paisa simply denied all of his interlocutor's claims, stating that he wished he looked the same as them.

In other excerpts from the video, both the singer and his partner offered people the chance to take photos with "Yong Bambi" to remember the moment, but many refused because they didn't know who he was.
