Live in peace

The world is at war, and we Argentines are also struggling to find common ground. We waste a lot of time and energy arguing about issues that don't add up, while our lives slip away. I propose we stop the ball rolling, find common ground, and, above all, that the example come from those who today are charged with leading the destiny of our country.

We need to live in peace.

Educational failure

To demonstrate how much public education has deteriorated in Argentina, one doesn't need to resort to overly in-depth studies. Neuquén-based Techint has just corroborated this. It began recruiting staff, and only 30% were able to pass an exam requiring simple math equations. A few years earlier, Toyota, dedicated to a similar purpose, had reported similar frustration. The country is suffering the effects of educational policies implemented, for the most part, by Kirchnerist administrations. During the misnamed "decade of victory," initiatives promoting more rigorous teaching curricula morphed into permissive approaches. In line with this trend, failing grades was considered stigmatizing and passing a year without the corresponding exemption was considered a "right."

In this context, many young people in Neuquén, as in so many other places in the country, will be condemned to suffer miserable living conditions due to demagogic actions.

Chainsaw

Those of us who voted for the current government supported the cuts in unnecessary spending, the plundering of public funds, and the abuse of waste. Today, excesses are occurring. Some of them are dangerous. Decree 346/2025 drained aid from the Belgrano Institute and from those throughout the country who carry the living memory of General Manuel Belgrano. His remains, in the Convent of Santo Domingo, no longer rest in peace. A national hero, a model of man. Out of respect for his legacy, I hope the article that bastardizes the propagation of his memory is repealed.

The violence of the other

President Milei gave a violent speech at the dinner held in Puerto Madero organized by the Faro Foundation. Immediately, and rightly so, criticism rained down. Lawyer Valeria Carreras denounced him for inciting violence. Kirchnerism judges Javier Milei's violence, forgetting that Hebe de Bonafini brought children to spit on photos of journalists whom she accused in a symbolic public trial of collaborating with the dictatorship. It's worth remembering that Magdalena Ruiz Guiñazú was on that list. They ferociously attacked the members of the Supreme Court, calling them corrupt, and Judge Carlos Fayt, over 90 years old, for being senile, calling him a mummy. National senators increased their salaries, reaching a gross sum of $9,500,000. Those from the province of Buenos Aires voted to be reelected indefinitely. María Eugenia Alonso, PAMI representative in the town of El Bolsón, closed her offices due to the march in support of Cristina Kirchner. Alesia Abaigar, an official with the Ministry of Women in the province of Buenos Aires, was part of the group that vandalized the home of Congressman José Luis Espert, using a vehicle based in the municipality of Quilmes. José Alperovich, convicted of sexually abusing his niece, is under house arrest in an apartment in Puerto Madero. From her house arrest, Cristina Kirchner attempts to impose conditions on the judges and continue disturbing the peace of the Constitución neighborhood. The Wednesday marches of retirees (almost without retirees) are pointless. Only a group of professional agitators shows up. Public employees are fighting for a union holiday, which private employees pay for. Both Mauricio Macri and Javier Milei are shouted at: "Trash, you are the dictatorship." Axel Kicillof, who can't speak without shouting, responds to Milei by stating that anyone who shouts and insults is doing so because they lack reason.

Given this incomplete list of perfectly documented acts, I wonder: what delicate, respectful, kind words can a citizen who works 12 hours a day and can't make ends meet use when referring to these representatives of the political class? President Milei interprets them perfectly. That is why his positive image has not waned. Kirchnerism is already a psychiatric issue. They believe and defend things they know are not true. In a recent report, Dr. Jorge Schvartzman, a full member of the Argentine Psychoanalytic Association, explains this in detail.

Professional associations

I fully agree with what former congressman Dr. Jorge Enríquez said about the public function of professional associations and the reason for their existence. But the problem lies in whether they, in this case the bar association, effectively fulfill their obligations. How can we explain the indifference he shows toward the actions of this group of registered media figures who saturate the media and deserve severe sanctions, since their conduct displays acts that lead to disqualification from the bar?

Tickets

It's unclear whether this is an inadvertent omission or a questionable savings strategy. After issuing the $2,000 bill, the banknote was immediately upgraded to the $10,000 bill, without incorporating intermediate denominations. This decision creates everyday inconveniences: when making purchases of $2,000 or $3,000, and given the scarcity of change, paying with a $10,000 bill means receiving an unnecessarily large amount of bills, making transactions difficult. Furthermore, the highest denomination bill in circulation today isn't even worth $20. Wouldn't it be time to introduce $5,000 and $50,000 bills to make people's daily lives easier and improve the efficiency of cash management?
