José Escolar's brave bulls provide a clean run despite the mass of runners in Pamplona.
The streets of Pamplona were damp after the drizzle for the sixth running of the bulls of the San Fermin festival in 2025. Despite this and the large crowds that gathered in the Navarrese capital as the weekend approached, the José Escolar bulls put on a clean run that left no goring injuries, according to the initial report provided by Red Cross officials.
The rocket took a while to launch into the sky, following local police instructions, after part of a balcony broke off during the first stretch, according to TVE. Once they had cleared the barrier around the first participants, who were waiting for the bulls in Santo Domingo, the brave bulls led the pack to the finish.
As yesterday, they launched the race ahead of the tame horses, allowing for long runs to the bullring. There were no falls or excessive pile-ups, despite the crowds lining the streets of Pamplona, where at times the herd seemed to disappear into the mass.

The last bull entered the ring in 2:42 minutes, taking longer than usual as one bull was left charging at the people sheltered behind the barriers in the bullring. No goring occurred, and the bullfighters managed to redirect the bull. In fact, the Red Cross reports five incidents involving contusions to the arm, shoulders, chest, head, and abdomen. Two other patients from previous days remain hospitalized and are progressing favorably.
