AEMET activates the orange alert this Saturday: these are the communities affected by the severe storms

Although summer is a time of year characterized by high temperatures , sometimes reaching heat waves , it is not exempt from adverse weather conditions. In this case, the main event this Saturday, July 12, will be a DANA, which will affect various areas of Spain, including Aragon, Catalonia, and the Valencian Community.
In this regard, the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has already issued an orange alert in the areas most likely to be affected by the severe storms and torrential rains . The yellow alert will also remain in effect due to the high temperatures expected in the coming days.

In the rest of the country, a yellow warning will also be issued in various locations. La Rioja, Navarra, and Castilla y León will experience rain and storms in the coming hours, as well as lighter storms in Madrid, the Basque Country, and the Balearic Islands . Coastal storms will be more frequent in Andalusia .
Dana and high temperaturesAlthough the weekend will begin with a challenging storm for some regions closest to the Mediterranean , especially with the passage of the Dana, the weather looks set to be moderate next Sunday. However, thunderstorms are reported in Catalonia, Cantabria, and Galicia, with clearer skies in the rest of the country.

In the southeastern part of the Iberian Peninsula, temperatures will remain considerably high , reaching over 36 degrees. However, drops may be observed in the northeast and the Canary Islands . Meanwhile, temperatures will rise on Sunday, exceeding 35 degrees in the south.
As for the weather , the decrease will be slight, but most noticeable in places like Lugo and Ávila , with minimum temperatures of 12°C and 14°C respectively , which will gradually increase over the next week. While the wind will not blow at high speeds, it is expected to increase in the south and northeast of the peninsula.
