On Wednesday (13 August) the remaining matches of the first round of the English League Cup (including Birmingham City vs. Sheffield United) and the return match between Istanbul Başakşehir and Viking Stavanger in the third qualifying round of the Conference League are scheduled to take place.
The sporting highlight on Wednesday evening, however, is the UEFA Super Cup. Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham Hotspur, the reigning champions of the Champions League and Europa League, will face off in Udine.

Why isn't the game shown on free TV?
The match between PSG and Tottenham was originally scheduled to be broadcast on ProSieben . However, for football fans in Germany, this means no UEFA Super Cup on free TV. A planned collaboration between the private broadcaster ProSiebenSat.1 and the streaming service DAZN fell through – according to media reports, licensing issues are preventing the broadcast.

Public broadcasters regularly report on football events and show selected matches live on television. These often include matches of the German national team, DFB Cup matches, selected matches from international tournaments such as the European Championship or World Cup, as well as special charity matches and test matches.
In addition to live broadcasts, both channels also offer comprehensive matchday summaries. The most well-known is the Sportschau on ARD , which shows Bundesliga highlights on Saturdays starting at 6:30 p.m. ZDF also broadcasts summaries, analyses, and interviews on the weekend's matches on Sundays in the Sportstudio.
RTL has held the rights to the UEFA Champions League in Germany since 2021 and will broadcast selected top matches, including the final. The broadcasts are available free-to-air on TV and via streaming on RTL+ .
ProSieben/Sat.1 occasionally broadcasts UEFA Europa League and UEFA Europa Conference League matches. Some of these are also available via the Joyn streaming platform.
DAZN has expanded its rights to the Bundesliga and will show from the 2025/26 season:
- The Saturday conference at 3:30 p.m.
- All singles matches on Sunday
The rights are valid until 2029 and also include international competitions such as the UEFA Champions League, the Premier League and national cup competitions such as the FA Cup and the Community Shield.

- Top games on Saturday evening
- All matches of the 2. Bundesliga
- All Premier League matches
The content is available via Sky Sport and WOW , Sky’s associated streaming service.
MagentaSport , the streaming service of Deutsche Telekom, will show in the 2025/26 season:
- All 380 games of the 3rd league
- The 2026 FIFA World Cup
The World Cup will be broadcast in cooperation with Telekom, with Johannes B. Kerner as host and Wolff Fuss as commentator.
For several seasons, Amazon Prime Video has been showing individual Bundesliga games exclusively on Friday evenings (usually one game per matchday).
Amazon also broadcasts selected UEFA Champions League matches and other football events, depending on the rights allocation.
The streaming service is only available to Prime members.
