One year before the next parliamentary elections, the CDU-SPD coalition in Berlin is far from securing a majority of its own. If elections were held next Sunday, the CDU and SPD combined would only receive 38 percent of the vote, according to a survey by the opinion research institute Civey. That would not be enough to continue the alliance.
