Pietro Lombardi and Laura Maria Rypa: Separation – is it finally over this time?

Pietro Lombardi and Laura Maria Rypa are going their separate ways again. On August 17, 2025, Laura announced the split via her Instagram story. For many fans, the end of the relationship comes as no surprise.
Rypa explained on her Instagram story that her and Lombardi's lives had diverged over time. Out of respect for their two sons, she asked the public for understanding not to reveal any further details.
While Laura clearly communicated the breakup, Pietro Lombardi hasn't commented publicly yet. The singer has been quiet on social media since then.
According to BILD, he is said to have withdrawn after an argument that preceded the separation. The conflict was triggered by a recurring theme: Laura felt alone and overwhelmed in her daily life with two small children, dogs, a house, and a move.
The singer then disappeared from the shared house after packing a suitcase that evening.
The couple, who got together in 2020, have broken up seven times, according to their podcast.
The circumstances were particularly dramatic in 2024. On October 7, an argument between the couple in their Cologne villa escalated so violently that Laura Maria Rypa called the police. Emergency services arrived on the scene, and Laura Maria was taken to Cologne University Hospital with her then eight-week-old son, Amelio.
Later, Lombardi emphasized that he hadn't physically assaulted his girlfriend, but otherwise expressed self-criticism. "I promised Laura I would work on my problems. I was a real asshole."
Before his relationship with Laura Maria Rypa, Pietro Lombardi was married to singer Sarah Engels, where they had a similarly turbulent relationship. The two met on "Deutschland sucht den Superstar" in 2011, married in 2013, and had a son, Alessio. After several crises and a public affair scandal, they separated in 2016.
