Invisible hair extensions: I tested the smallest extensions in the world – the result is so natural

Micro-bonding extensions tested: These are probably the smallest and most natural extensions available – and I tried them out.

I've tried just about every hair extension technique —from tapes to bonds to wefts. I even had my hair extended at a celebrity salon in Los Angeles. But the best extensions I've ever had? I'm wearing them right now. And they don't come from Hollywood, but from a small salon in Munich: Eliza Munich .

Founder Eliza Ullrich was recommended to me by other hairdressers – and by a colleague I would never have guessed even wore extensions. "An insider tip," they said. Although 137 five-star Google reviews don't sound quite so secret to me anymore, they definitely sound like "book an appointment immediately."

Micro-bonding extensions: This hair extension method is perfect for fine hair

What's special about Ullrich is that she doesn't work with Asian hair, as is usually the case, but with Slavic, or Eastern European, hair. This has its advantages: "Our blonde extensions were never dark, so they don't need to be bleached heavily. Furthermore, there are very fine hair textures here – straight, wavy, or curly," she explains to me. Anyone entering her salon in Maxvorstadt can see the variety at first glance: bundles of hair in all lengths, colors, and textures hang on an open shelf. If a shade doesn't suit her needs, it can be ordered or custom-mixed.

Micro-bonding extensions: I had tiny extensions inserted

This time, I want it longer – around 60 centimeters, just below my ribs. Ullrich grabs two bundles from the shelf, holds them to the back of my head, and decides: "The color is perfect." A honey-blonde gradient, darker at the roots, lighter at the tips. Exactly like my natural hair. Because I like it as natural as possible, the expert recommends 100 strands. It sounds like a lot, but it isn't: Eliza Munich's bondings are significantly smaller than usual, making them appear more discreet and natural. You can also order the hair through her online shop and have it fitted by your regular hairdresser.
