Hayden Christensen & Daughter Briar Rose Perform Duet at Cubs Game
Hayden Christensen certainly brought the force to the Wrigley Field.
Indeed, the Star Wars alum stepped out for a rare outing with his 10-year-old daughter Briar Rose—who he shares with ex-girlfriend Rachel Bilson—to watch the Chicago Cubs take on the Pittsburgh Pirates Aug. 15.
The 44-year-old took to the mound to throw out the first pitch wearing a jersey donning the number 66—undoubtedly a nod to Order 66 from the Star Wars films—before later showing off his and Briar Rose’s sweet bond by singing “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” together during the 7th inning stretch.
“Alright Cubs fans,” Hayden said into the mic, as shown in videos shared to social media, before looking at his daughter to add, “Let me hear you!”
And after a quick countdown, the father-daughter duo enthusiastically started the song—until they were suddenly startled by a loud roaring sound made by a fighter jet passing by overhead.
“Hayden Christensen and his daughter sang ‘Take Me Out to the Ballgame’ at the Cubs game,” the MLB captioned a video of the moment on X, “and had their own special (unplanned) flyover.”
Despite the unexpected distraction, which seemed to be part of a rehearsal for the annual Chicago Air and Water Show, Hayden and Briar Rose continued to finish the song through their giggles as the audience sang along.
While the Jumper star tends to keep his personal life private, he and Rachel have shared an occasional glimpse into their co-parenting relationship since their 2019 split.
"Everything's good," the O.C. actress told People last July. "Everything's in a really good place.
"She is so beautifully flourishing and has the support completely surrounding her from every side,” she added of her daughter. "She is kind and that's the best thing that you can hear or want for your kid. Even other parents have shared that, and that makes me very proud."
In fact, Rachel even recently paid homage to her ex—with the help of her daughter, of course—by putting on a Darth Vader mask that repeated some of his iconic lines, including "You don't know the power of the dark side" and "You have failed me for the last time."
In the caption of the April 26 Instagram video, the 43-year-old added, “Are you even a mom if you’ve never done this?”
