AI startup Anthropic now worth 183 billion – it would be the third-largest company in Germany

The US AI startup Anthropic raises $13 billion in a Series F round led by Iconiq Capital.
The US AI startup Anthropic, known for its chatbot Claude, has raised $13 billion in a new financing round. This increases the company's valuation to $183 billion—more than triple its March 2025 valuation. By comparison, only SAP and Siemens would be more valuable in Germany.
At that time, the valuation was still at $61.5 billion. The current Series F round was led by investment firm Iconiq Capital. Other well-known investors include Fidelity, Lightspeed, the Qatar Investment Authority, Blackstone, and Coatue.
Anthropic – founded by former OpenAI employees who were critical of their former employer's development strategy – emphasized its focus on AI safety and ethical development in comparison to Open AI and other AI developers during its European expansion.
Guillaume Princen, Anthropic's European CEO, told Sifted in June 2025: "Anthropic is first and foremost an AI safety company. There's something profoundly European about the way Anthropic thinks about building AI."
