The HHLA Supervisory Board consists of twelve members and is staffed on an equal basis. The six employee representatives are appointed in accordance with the provisions of the German Co-Determination Act (Mitbestimmungsgesetz). The City of Hamburg and MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company each have the right to propose three Supervisory Board members, with the City proposing the chairperson.
