Vienna Airport performed well in the first half of 2025. Consolidated profit increased by 6.2 percent to EUR 115.1 million, while operating profit (EBIT) grew by 5.3 percent to EUR 146.1 million. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) increased by 3.3 percent to EUR 211.7 million, and revenue increased by 7.4 percent to EUR 524.4 million. The number of employees decreased by 0.5 percent to 5,412, the company announced on Tuesday.

The number of passengers at Vienna/Schwechat Airport increased by 2.4 percent to 14.7 million. Overall, the first half of the year was satisfactory. "The positive passenger trend of recent periods continued in the first six months of this year, albeit at a lower pace, as expected," the airport said. Flight movements increased by three percent to 112,956 takeoffs and landings. Destinations in the Far East, in particular, recorded an above-average increase of 32.5 percent. Cargo volume increased by 9.1 percent to 154,001 tons, according to the company.

Outlook confirmed: Net result of EUR 230 million

The outlook for the full year 2025 was confirmed. Revenue is expected to be around €1.08 billion, EBITDA around €440 million, and net income before minority interests around €230 million. Investments are expected to amount to approximately €300 million. "All projects will be financed from cash flow and reserves," Vienna Airport emphasized. However, certain burdens are already emerging for 2026. "Due to the expiration of the COVID-19 special regulation, airport charges will be calculated again according to the statutory formula from January 1, 2026. This will result in an expected reduction in the passenger fare of around 4.6 percent for 2026, and landing charges will decrease by around 2.15 percent," the airport calculated in a press release.

In the second quarter, revenue increased by 7.4 percent year-on-year to EUR 298.6 million. EBIT amounted to EUR 97.4 million, compared to EUR 92.2 million a year earlier. The EBITA margin was 32.6 percent, compared to 33.2 percent in the same quarter of the previous year. In July 2025, Vienna Airport, including its foreign subsidiaries Malta Airport and Košice Airport, recorded a total of 4,451,623 passengers (July 2024: 4,406,802 passengers). Vienna Airport registered 3,283,706 travelers in July, slightly lower than in the same month last year.
