THE Turquoise Coast, known as the Turkish Riviera has beautiful beaches and of course, turquoise-coloured waters.

It also has a luxurious atmosphere, which has led to high-end clientele and a comparison to the exclusive Hamptons in New York.

The Turquoise Coast in Turkey stretches for 600 miles along the Mediterranean and Aegean coastlines of southwestern Turkey.

It encompasses the towns and cities of Antalya, Bodrum, Marmaris, and Fethiye.

While these are the most well-known spots, there are many smaller villages and towns that all look over the turquoise waters.

According to Condé Nast Traveller, the Turquoise Coast is being increasingly billed as the "Turkey's Hamptons".

The Turquoise Coast has some incredible beaches, including Ölüdeniz, also known as the Blue Lagoon.

It's a popular choice for beachgoers as well as paragliders who take off from Babadag Mountain and get a look over the coast from up high.

Other favourites include Patara, and Kaputas Beach which are very popular with tourists.

For anyone wanting a quieter beach experience, head to Çıralı Beach which visitors have called "too beautiful to be true".

The hidden beach is surrounded by mountains with shores of sand and white pebbles.

Over in the busy town of Bodrum, there's a backdrop that influencers would love, as did one of our Sun Travel writers when she visited who discovered beach bars and spots for watersports.

Just like the exclusive Hamptons in New York, there are some celebrity-loved beach clubs on the coastline.

Maçakizi has hosted the likes of Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell.

The five-star hotel has a private beach deck with sunbeds where guests can look over the Mediterranean Sea completely undisturbed.

The Turquoise Coast is a great option for a May getaway with an average temperature of 27C.

Other celebrity hotspots are in Antalya, the Voyage Belek Golf & Spa is where Dwayne Johnson and Selena Gomez have holidayed.

Kim Kardashian, Cristiano Ronaldo and Taylor Swift have all been seen spending time at the Maxx Royal Belek Golf Resort.

For anyone wanting to explore the Turquoise Coast, here's an alternative to Turkey’s much-loved resort Antalya that's far less-crowded.

And the seaside village along the coastline that has been described as the 'best kept secret'.
