Jet2 to launch new flights from the UK to British Isle home to Caribbean-like beaches

JET2 is gearing up to start new flights from Bournemouth to Jersey next year due to high demand.
In 2026 the airline will launch more routes to the Channel Island known for its incredible coastline and French weather.
For anyone wanting to pop over to the beautiful British Isle of Jersey, from the south of the UK, it will be much easier next year.
The new route with Jet2 from Bournemouth Airport to Jersey will start on 25 July 2026.
During this time, Jet2 will offer a two weekly service on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
Flights will operate until 29 September 2026 and will take just 45 minutes.
Jersey is an easy holiday destination for Brits because it's so close to the UK, but has the weather of France.
The capital is Saint Helier where you'll find Elizabeth Castle, the Maritime Museum, and historic sites like Liberation Square and Royal Square.
There are also shopping hubs like Liberty Wharf and St. Helier Central Market.
The island is home to hundred-year-old castles, food with French and English influences, coastal walks, and some of the best beaches.
St. Brelade's Bay Beach, on the south side of the island, received a Travellers’ Choice award from TripAdvisor last year.
St. Ouen's Bay is also a popular choice, known for its golden sands and safe swimming with one visitor saying they felt "as if they were in the Caribbean."
Jersey's position closer to the French coast and the Bay of St. Malo means it has milder climate, with more sunshine hours than the rest of the British Isles.
In August, Jersey's average temperature sits between 18 and 23 degrees, but can be as high as 28 degrees.
With demand to Jersey so high, Jet2 will be providing more flights throughout 2026.
It has added more routes to Jersey from Newcastle International Airport, with extra Tuesday services from 26 May to 29 September 2026.
This is in addition to existing flights operating on a Saturday for summer 2026 and means customers have a choice of two weekly services.
A number of fights will run from Leeds Bradford Airport which will start on 2 May through to 10 October 2026.
East Midlands Airport will also have routes to Jersey from 24 May 2026 right through to October of next year.

Where is Jersey located?
Jersey is part of the Channel Islands, which are between England and France. The island group is located 85 miles from the south coast of England and 15 miles from the French coast.
Jersey and Guernsey are the largest of the Channel Islands, with smaller inhabited islands of Alderney, Sark and Herm.
The whole island of Jersey is just five miles long and nine miles wide and is made up of 12 parishes, with the capital city being St Helier.
Is Jersey part of the UK?
No it isn't, however the UK is the sovereign state responsible for the territory.
Jersey is a Crown Dependency, meaning King Charles is its monarch.
Although it is not part of the UK it is part of the British Isles.
It is known as the Bailiwick of Jersey which means it is a territory administered by a bailiff, who is a civil head and the most important citizen in the country.
Do I need a passport to get to Jersey?
You don't need to carry your passport or identity card when travelling from the UK to Jersey, but its always a good idea to carry one.
When entering the country you will need some form of recognised photographic identification for Jersey Customs and Immigration Officers to check so they can confirm your identity, nationality and evidence of your immigration permission.
There are no formal immigration controls when travelling within the Common Travel Area.
