Wimbledon have released the order of play for Monday's matches.

As expected, reigning champion Carlos Alcaraz kicks off the action against Fabio Fognini on Centre Court from 1.30pm.

They are followed by Katie Boulter's match against Paula Badosa, and then Arthur Rinderkneck vs Alexander Zverev.

On Court No. 1 from 1pm, Aryna Sabalenka faces Carson Branstine.

Jacob Fearnley then meets Joao Fonseca, before Emma Raducanu clashes with Mimi Xu in an all-British match.

Mimi Xu watched Emma Raducanu play the US Open final and dreamed of one day sharing the same stage.

The British 17-year-old will now play her ‘role model’ in the first round at Wimbledon.

"I was at the national academy in Loughborough when Emma was playing in the US Open final and me and all the girls who boarded there watched it," Xu said.

"We were all gathered around the TV - it was absolutely amazing.

"She's someone I've looked up to and I think she's a really good role model to have."

Hubert Hurkacz has withdrawn from Wimbledon.

The man who once defeated Roger Federer on Centre Court has decided to skip the tournament to continue his recovery from surgery.

"Not an easy post to write," he said on Instagram. "Together with my team, I've made the decision to withdraw from this year’s Wimbledon. During preparations, my body reacted - synovial membrane irritation, which is part of the recovery process from my surgery.

"It needs rest and treatment, and I need to listen to my body. Thank you for all the love and support - it means the world. I'll be back soon."

Hurkacz's withdrawal came hours after the draw was made on Friday, meaning he still banks half of the prize money available for a first round match.

The Poland star will therefore take home £33k, with a lucky loser facing British player Billy Harris.

Novak Djokovic jokingly confessed to feeling guilty after practising on the serene Centre Court grass.

Djokovic faced Carlos Alcaraz in a glitzy practice set on Wimbledon's main stage.

“Of course, yesterday obviously I was practising with Carlos, and obviously the tradition changed in the last few years that you get to hit a few balls on Centre Court.

“I thought that tradition will never change, but I guess everything is moving forward. Obviously it’s a huge privilege to be on virgin fresh grass before the tournament starts.

“It did feel a bit strange to be honest, and I almost felt a bit bad for ruining the grass and sliding on it.”

Emma Raducanu was given a tough reality check in her practice set on Court No. 1.

After struggling through a back problem at the Eastbourne Open, the British No. 1 faced the hard-hitting Elena Rybakina in a session ahead of her clash with 17-year-old compatriot Mimi Xu.

Despite dropping to No. 11 in the rankings, Rybakina showed Raducanu the difference between her and the top echelon of the WTA ranks.

Rybakina's strength and power seemed a little too much for the 22-year-old, who lost the set 6-2.
