According to the Times, the Swedish star has rejected wages of more than £600,000-a-week in favour of staying in Europe. The 25-year-old is said to want to play Champions League football next season.

Striker Callum Wilson has agreed personal terms with West Ham after leaving Newcastle.

Viktor Gyokeres will be forced to relinquish his July salary from Sporting CP after failing to report for pre-season training.

According to Record, Sporting president Frederico Varandas, has demanded the sanction after the Arsenal-bound star took 13 days of unauthorised absence.

Varandas was also angered by Gyokeres’ decision to have another holiday in Mallorca last week while his team- mates were training.

The Bundesliga club want £70million for the Dutch international, a fee the Blues are now expected to meet.

The club are also continuing talks for Ajax defender Jorrel Hato.

Liverpool have made contact with Sporting CP over a deal for their 18-year-old centre back Giovanni Leoni.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the Reds are in talks over a £34million transfer. Leoni is seen as a future star in Italy, after making 17 appearances in Serie A last season.
