Scottie Scheffler's late Masters mistake that saw him channel inner Bryson DeChambeau

Scottie Scheffler, after a disappointing bogey on the 18th at the end of his second round at The Masters, channelled his inner Bryson DeChambeau and hit the practice range to iron out his mistakes.
A wayward drive into the Pines and Magnolias on the final hole forced Scheffler to play it safe and settle for a bogey, capping off a day of ups and downs for the world's top-ranked golfer. Despite the setbacks, he managed to finish with a score of 68 on Friday, tying for fifth place as the tournament reached its midpoint.
However, for a player of Scheffler's calibre, who already boasts two Green Jackets, finishing the day in such a manner was not satisfactory. He took to the range post-round to work on his driving, with his coach assisting him in tweaking his body alignment.
Scheffler dedicated over an hour to practice, leaving at 8.20 pm, visibly tired from the day's efforts.

"I mean, I had a couple of three-putts," Scheffler remarked, as reports the Mirror US.
"I didn't hit as many fairways. I got myself in trouble off the tee on 18."
He also commented on the difficulty of playing under the day's tough conditions, noting the challenge posed by the fast greens and unpredictable winds.
"It's really tough out there with the conditions. Extremely challenging when you get greens this fast and you get that much wind, especially when it's gusty. It can be quite challenging.
"I did a good job of making some key up-and-downs, and I had the chip-in on 12, good up-and-down for par on 13, took advantage of a look there on 14. Overall I felt like I did some good things out there to stay in the tournament."

He continued: "Golf is a funny game. It's a day-to-day thing. Yesterday I felt really sharp. Today not as sharp. Could the conditions have contributed to that? I'm sure a little bit.
"It was definitely much harder to hit the ball where you were looking today just because the wind was blowing from everywhere. That's what's great about this golf course; it's quite challenging and you get winds like that, you've really got to manage your expectations, manage yourself around the course. Sometimes I did a good job of that. Other times today, maybe not so good."

Scheffler remains three strokes adrift of pace-setter Justin Rose, bunkered amidst a star-studded pack including big hitters like Bryson DeChambeau, Rory McIlroy, Corey Conners, and alongside fellows Matt McCarty, Shane Lowry, and Tyrrell Hatton.
Reflecting on the competition, he remarked: "Well, we've got a great golf course, conditions should be really good, challenging, and we've got some great guys on top of the leaderboard, so it should be a fun weekend."
