Peter Canavan Explains Why Armagh Were Powerless To Stop Kerry Onslaught

On the back of yesterday's win over Armagh, very few people will be brave enough to discount Kerry's All-Ireland chances over the remainder of the summer.
Their performance in yesterday's All-Ireland quarter-final was certainly an eye-catching one. The manner in which they blew the Sam Maguires holders away in the second half was remarkable.
Kerry came into this fixture under quite a bit of pressure. They had been well under par for most of this year's championship, most notably in their round robin defeat at the hands of Meath.
Of course, that run of form will now quickly be forgotten.

Peter Canavan Says Armagh Were Powerless To Stop Kerry OnslaughtWhile Tyrone will certainly be no pushovers in the semi-final, Kerry will be difficult to stop if they can replicate the performance they produced against Armagh.
Speaking on The Sunday Game, Peter Canavan said that no team in the country would have been able to deal with the second half onslaught that the Munster champions produced on Sunday.
After 40 minutes, things were going to plan from an Armagh point of view. They had played some very good football, kept David Clifford fairly quiet, and were five points up playing with the breeze.
The next 15 was the best 15 minutes we've seen by far this year. Kerry were breathtaking, they scored 14 times (0-14 to nil) in that period.
Not only had they hunger and appetite for breaking ball around the middle and bossed the kickouts, going forward they were ruthless and ravenous. Literally, they didn't miss for that 15 minutes.
I don't think any team in the country would have an answer in that 15 minutes with the way Kerry played.
This was certainly a statement performance from Kerry, although it will be interesting to see if they can hit those levels again over the coming weeks.
Should they do so, they will take some stopping in their quest to win a first All-Ireland title since 2021.
