Liverpool are yet to get their hands on the Premier League trophy but the Reds are already planning for how they'll keep hold of it next season. Arne Slot and his players have plenty more celebrations in store between now and the end of the month but behind the scenes, Liverpool's recruitment team are busy preparing for when the first part of the summer transfer window opens on June 1.

Slot knows that his side can't afford to stand still if they want to win back-to-back league titles for the first time since 1984. The Reds boss has hinted at a 'big summer' on the transfer front, with plenty more incomings than last year expected.

Liverpool only signed two players during the Dutchman's first summer at the helm, one of whom was immediately loaned back out while the other has barely featured. It should be much different this time around, though.

The Reds will be forced into the right-back market after Trent Alexander-Arnold finally confirmed earlier this week that he'd be leaving at the end of his contract. His creativity will be missed unless Liverpool can find a suitable replacement - or someone even better.

Here's a round-up of the latest transfer news from Anfield.

Liverpool have not made an offer for Kevin De Bruyne, despite a sensational report to the contrary on Tuesday. It was claimed that Anfield chiefs had approached the Manchester City legend, who'll become a free agent this summer, and made a proposal.

But the Liverpool ECHO insist that no such offer has been made. De Bruyne, 33, has publicly confirmed that he'd be open to staying in the Premier League when his City contract expires, although a stunning move to Merseyside remains an unlikely prospect.

Bayer Leverkusen star Jeremie Frimpong has a release clause of €35million (£29m) amid links of a move to Liverpool. Frimpong, 24, has been touted as the ideal replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold thanks to his attacking qualities.

Multiple reports state that the Netherlands international would be keen on joining Liverpool and the Reds wouldn't have to break the bank to sign him. Frimpong has spent four years at Leverkusen, mostly under ex-Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso.

Liverpool winger Federico Chiesa is expected to leave Anfield after less than a year at the club, with a return to Italy mooted. Having spent most of this season on the bench, Chiesa made a rare appearance in Sunday's 3-1 loss to Chelsea.

But the 27-year-old Italian is clearly not in Arne Slot's current plans. According to Calciomercato, both AC Milan and Napoli have registered their interest.
