Galway Star's Use Of Irish Slang Is Already Causing Confusion On 'Love Island'

While the hunt for the All-Ireland will be the main focus in Galway footballing circles over the coming weeks, many in the county will also have an eye on the happenings in the Love Island villa.
Galway defender Sean Fitzgerald has taken a break from his inter-county commitments to join the ITV reality show, which is filmed in Mallorca. His decision to step away from the panel caused quite the stir in recent times.
The first episode of the new season aired on Monday evening, with Fitzgerald already making a big impression.

Galway Star's Irish Slang Causing 'Love Island' ConfusionIntroducing himself to his final islanders with his nickname 'Fitzy', Sean Fitzgerald seemed to make an immediate impression on one particular person in the villa.
Merseyside native Robyn was quite taken by the Galway man, with the pair having a couple of interesting conversations. In the first one, she was confused his hair colour.

Fitzgerald then quickly used the old reliable flirting technique of slagging off his opposite number. However, his use of some common Irish slang caused a bit of confusion.

Robyn: I was really drawn to you, I don't know.
Sean: You're a spoofer man. The smell of b******t off ya.
Robyn: I'm a what?
Sean: A spoofer.
Robyn: What's a spoofer?
Sean: You're a spoofer. A spoofer is someone who's chatting s**t like.
A solid outing from the Galway man so far.
An early exit from Love Island seems highly unlikely at the minute, meaning Fitzgerald's availability for the game against Westmeath in a couple of weeks is looking doubtful.
