Donegal SFC to get underway next weekend

The 2025 Donegal senior football championship is set to commence next weekend (August 9/10) as planned.
With Jim McGuinness’s side having reached the All-Ireland SFC final where they lost out to Kerry last Sunday, there had been speculation that that start of this year’s competition could be delayed by a week or two.
However, it has since been confirmed that it’s all systems go for the Dr Maguire Cup race next weekend, with Letterkenny-based St Eunan’s looking to defend their title after defeating Dungloe in last year’s final.
The competition is set to take place over a nine-week period, with just two free weekends which are set to come after the third round on the weekend of August 30/31.
The county final is scheduled to take place on October 12th.
