Darragh Ó Sé Feels Selfish Armagh Decision Summed Up Difference With Kerry

That was certainly a wasted opportunity, with a simple pass to a teammate from Kelly all but guaranteeing a goal. Some feel that this passage of play summed up the difference between the two sides on the day.
Writing in the Irish Times, Darragh Ó Sé suggested that this rather selfish moment from Kelly was a prime example of where Armagh went wrong in this game.
Compare that to the chance Tiernan Kelly made a mess of in the first half of the Armagh v Kerry game...
Armagh had a four-on-one, with Niall Grimley and Rian O’Neill to one side and Oisín Conaty to the other. One simple pass was all it needed. But even in the moment, you could see that Kelly had no notion of passing...
Once [Shane] Ryan tipped the shot over the bar, you could see Conaty, Grimley and O’Neill all give Kelly an earful.
Leadership is about doing the right thing rather than the spectacular thing.
Kelly's teammates certainly did not seem pleased at the time.
Ó Sé would go on to compare this to the example of David Clifford, who he felt did a huge amount of off the ball running in order to make the space for Kerry teammate Sean O'Shea to have a big impact on the game.
A goal for Armagh at that stage of the game certainly could have been a key turning point, even if McGeeney's side would manage to find the back of the net later on. It certainly looked like a microcosm of the differing attitudes from the two sets of players on the day.
