Clare Star Aidan McCarthy Issues Clarification After Lining Out For Club On Day Of Tipp Match

Clare's All-Ireland winning forward Aidan McCarthy has taken to social media to clarify that he did not walk away from the county's senior hurling panel.

McCarthy was not selected in Brian Lohan's 26-man panel for Saturday's defeat to Tipperary in Ennis, which the Banner lost, but he said on Twitter on Wednesday that he "was willing, ready and able to line out for my county."

Just to clarify and confirm, I did not walk off the clare Senior Hurling panel.

I was willing, ready and able to line out for my county against Tipperary on Saturday evening if selected.
