But this morning, the Lloyds Bank app went down in a three-hour crash, which left thousands of Britons unable to access banking services on payday.

However, furious customers have flocked to social media to share their frustrations with the poorly timed disturbance.
On X, one customer wrote: 'I’ve just transferred money from another bank to Lloyds so I can pay my bills.

Customers began reporting issues on Down Detector shortly after 05:00 BST this morning, with complaints quickly rising to a peak of over 700 disruption reports
The bank confirmed to individual customers that there are service disruptions to the app, but did not make a statement while the issue was ongoing
The issues appeared to be widespread across the country, according to Down Detector's outage map.
Issues were reported by customers in almost all major UK cities, including Manchester, Birmingham, Nottingham, and London.
While Lloyds Bank did not make an official statement while the issue was ongoing, the bank confirmed to individual customers that there were issues.
Replying to one customer's complaint, Lloyds Bank wrote: 'Some customers are having issues with our app right now. Bear with us as we fix this.'
However, many customers were left confused as to why they had been unable to access their banking services this morning.
One customer wrote on X: '@LloydsBank are you aware the online mobile banking app keeps crashing when trying to open?'
Another added: 'Mobile app crashing whilst trying to login. What’s going on?'

The biggest problem for many app users has been that this outage came on the day many receive their salaries and pay their bills.
Without access to banking services, some customers took to social media to complain that they had been left unable to pay important bills.
'My banking app will not let me log in and I need to pay some bills,' wrote one commenter.
'@LloydsBank are a joke. App not working on payday,' added another.
However, if you have incurred any costs as a direct result of the outage you might be able to get your money back.
For example, if you were unable to pay your bills or file your Self Assessment Tax return, you might be able to claim back any fines you receive.
If you do encounter issues, it's worth keeping a careful record of what happens, including the details of any representative from the bank you speak to.
You should then be able to make a formal complaint via the Barclays website.

If you're unhappy with how the bank handles your case, you can choose to escalate the issue to the Financial Ombudsman Service.
This independent body will consider the evidence you present and make a decision regarding your claim.
If you do lose any money due to this outage, the Ombudsman could intervene on your behalf to force the bank to pay you back.
However, there is no guarantee of getting back any money you lose.
