BT and Virgin Media rival dishes out broadband for £5, check your postcode now
If your broadband bill is making you wince, you might want to check your postcode. Giffgaff is now rivalling the likes of BT, Virgin and Sky with a deal that offers full internet access for just £5 per month. Yes, you really can get online for almost the same price as posh cup of coffee. This ludicrously cheap deal is even available on Giffgaffs fastest 900Mbps downloads - at that rate it would take just 40 seconds to download a full HD movie.
It's clearly an eye-catching offer, so what's the catch?
There are a couple of things to be aware of. Firstly, unklike BT and Sky, Giffgaff doesn't offer its connectivity to all areas of the UK. You'll need to pop your postcode into the checker first to see if you can get it.
Next, there's the total price over the two year deal. The low £5 cost only lasts for the first 6 monts before it switches to the standard rates. Of course, it will still save money just be aware that the monthly price will shoot up from month 7.

• 500Mbps - £5 per month for the first 6 months, then £28 per month for 18 months
• 900Mbps - £5 per month for the first 6 months, then £32 per month for 18 months
Giffgaff says it will allow users to change their speeds after the £5 price ends.
"Once the six months at £5 ends, there’s the flexibility for members to change their broadband speed up or down each month should they wish, to help manage their bills," the company confirmed.
And it’s not just new members the promotion applies to. giffgaff is also applying the discount to all existing broadband members.

Giffgaff isn't the only provider offering discounted rates.
Community Fibre, which supplies large parts of London with internet access is currently offering rapid 1Gbps speeds of just £20 per month. That's its lowest ever price.
Sky and Virgin also have speedy access at more affordable prices.
