Argos offers the Apple Watch Ultra 2 at the lowest price we’ve ever seen

If you have had your heart set on the Apple Watch Ultra 2 but simply couldn’t justify the £799 price tag, you might want to consider what Argos is currently offering. It’s not often you see discounts on Apple products this generous.
Argos has slashed the price of the Apple Watch Ultra 2 to £599, what the popular retailer claims is its “lowest price ever” - it’s certainly the cheapest we’ve ever seen the smartwatch sold for.
A cursory glance at Amazon price checker website Camelcamelcamel reveals the cheapest the Watch Ultra 2 has ever been on Amazon is £719.10, making this £599 price look even better.
While £599 is still quite a chunk of cash to spend on a smartwatch, the Apple Watch Ultra 2 is one of the best out there. It’s the second generation of Apple’s rugged version of its Apple Watch, with a chunkier casing with titanium finish and longer two-day battery life.
It packs in diving capabilities and other features you won’t find on other Apple Watch models such as more accurate GPS, harder sapphire glass screen, exclusive watch faces and an Action Button that can be customised to do different things.
The specific model Argos has discounted is the black Apple Watch Ultra 2 with the dark green alpine loop strap. At the time of writing, you can pick from a small or medium sized strap. This black watch was released in 2024 but is the same as the silver Apple Watch Ultra 2 released in 2023 - Apple simply introduced a new colour rather than update the product line, which is rare for Apple but a win in my book.
I’ve used this Apple Watch extensively and love the display and longer battery life, but it’s still a device you have to charge every couple of days. It cannot compete with watches from outdoor brands such as Garmin or Coros that can genuinely keep going for weeks on a charge. Those adventure watches also have features such as offline mapping that the Ultra 2 lacks.
But the Ultra 2 does offer the ultimate version of the Apple Watch, and it’s great at doing so. The watch faces are information-dense, the diving function is great fun to use and the longer battery is handy when you want to spend the day recording hikes or runs using GPS - I’ve not been able to kill the thing in a day, which you might find you have done on older models.
Argos doesn’t say how long this deal will last but I don’t suspect it’ll hang around for long. It might even sell out.
