Virgin Media is one of the UK’s main broadband and TV providers, and has been on a roll in recent months adding new TV channels to its roster. That continues this week as the firm has announced two more free channels are being added for all its customers.

If you have a Virgin TV 360, Stream or V6 box, you should have the new Virgin Media channels right now. They are British Screen Classics and wedotv movies, which can be found on channel 450 and 451 respectively.

Both are ‘FAST’ channels, which stands for Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television. As the name suggests, the programming has ads throughout to keep it free-to-air, much like you’ll be used to on other Virgin channels or on terrestrial channels such as ITV and Channel 4.

“Virgin TV is home to the best in entertainment and more choice for our subscribers.  We offer enhanced value with fantastic on demand and channel content at no extra cost, including two brand-new streaming movie channels,” said David Bouchier, Chief TV and Entertainment Officer at Virgin Media O2.

“On top of the existing streaming channels available to Virgin TV customers, they now have even more choice and 24/7 access to exciting movies for free.”

British Screen Classics shows films and TV shows from the libraries of ITV Studios and Studio Canal. Virgin said it “will take viewers on a journey through Britain’s great cinematic heritage by delving deep into the history of legendary British film studios and production houses to provide a 24/7 stream of adored titles such as This Sporting Life, Doctor in the House, Heaven's Above! and Clockwise.”

Meanwhile, wedotv movies is described as a “contemporary film channel with a catalogue of over 500 movies across all genres.” Viewers can expect each day of programming to be themed, for example with Romance Mondays and Sci-fi Wednesdays, and have seasonal events for appropriate Halloween and Christmas content, as well as other annual dates.

Adding these two new channels takes Virgin’s roster of FAST channels to 35, following the recent addition of channels such as Inside Crime, Homes Under The Hammer, Red Bull TV and Hell’s Kitchen.

You can find the new channels on channel 450 and 451, or by heading into Virgin’s Electronics Programme Guide (EPG) using your remote control.
