The Internet Says This Viral Tool Is Like a Magic Wand for Puffy Eyes—I Was Skeptical, so I Tried It

As someone who has an ever-changing sleep schedule, I'm pretty much never exempt from waking up with eye bags. Some days, I'm a true night owl, and on others, I'm the most productive morning person. How to Use It

One thing I appreciate about this device is how easy it is to use. The directions are straightforward, and the packaging also has a QR code with a link to resources that show you various techniques and tips.

To get started, remove the cap and set it aside. It might feel natural to stick it on the back of the tool, but you'll want to avoid this. Blocking the open vents can mess up the airflow that's used to change the temperature of the treatment. When you're ready to turn it on, hold down either the hot or cold button, depending on the kind of treatment you want.

From there, the device will turn on, and you can select how intense you want your treatment. The hot and cold treatments each have three settings: cold, colder, and coldest range between 50 and 57°F, while hot, hotter, and hottest run from 95 to 108°F. The level that you're on will be indicated by the three LED lights under the two main buttons.

You should give the wand one minute to reach the temperature you selected. After, you're free to begin your treatment, starting on one side of the face and moving from the inner sections upward and outward—similar to how you would use a gua sha. Each treatment is six minutes long. Once you're three minutes in, the light under the tip will flash to let you know it's time to switch to the other side of your face. At the six-minute mark, it will automatically turn off.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that the Depuffing Wand actually worked. I got the best results from starting with a cold setting and ending with heat. I was honestly a bit skeptical that I'd see results in just a few minutes, but I think the combination truly gave me a less tired-looking appearance. That said, the best results come with continued use, so I'm curious to know what would happen if I tested this for a month or two.

Results aside, I found it easy to move the tool across my face as long as I did so with light pressure (especially under the eyes!). I like that I could use the cold setting for reducing the appearance of dark circles and puffiness while contouring my jawline and cheekbones. Meanwhile, I was able to use the heat in tandem with skincare to boost product absorption.

Is the TheraFace Depuffing Wand worth it?

This product is like a spa treatment on the go, making it well worth the investment. It's perfect for fellow night owls, early risers, or anyone who likes to pamper themselves. I did my treatments at home, but I'd argue that this is also a great buy for frequent flyers, as it's TSA approved. The size isn't too big, and the motor is on the quieter side, so I'll definitely be taking this with me on all my vacations and work trips moving forward.
