Stray Kids' Bang Chan Leans Into the Jorts Trend for Summer 2025
As Stray Kids continues their <dominATE> world tour in the United States, the members are keeping us entertained even when they’re not on the stage thanks to their OOTDs. Just a day after maknae I.N gave us the perfect alternative for cargo pants, Bang Chan is sporting one of the trendiest items of the season in his own way.
Getting a head start on this hot summer trend, the Stray Kids leader posted photos of himself wearing long jorts on his Instagram page. To complete the look, he opted for a white Fendi hoodie designed in collaboration with Japanese artist Tarout and matching platform sneakers. He also threw in a black beanie, an addition that stays in his outfit rotation.
Love it or hate it, extra long, culotte-like shorts had a resurgence last year and have been dubbed nu-metal shorts. Since then, they’ve been trending, with some even incorporating them into their cold-weather looks by pairing them with boots. Now that things are heating up though, they’re set to be everywhere this summer. Like Bang Chan, plenty of celebrities are picking them up before the season has even officially started. Emme Lopez was similarly spotted wearing them earlier this week, also combining them with sneakers.
While the long jorts are ultra trendy now, Bang Chan did however stand by an anti-trend. Though more low-key retro sneakers are seeing a jump in popularity as of late, he stuck to chunky sneakers, proving trend cycles don’t make or break an outfit. (It’s especially fitting for concert and festival season, since a platform shoe could potentially give you a little bit of a better view.) Combined with the black beanie, a go-to wardrobe staple, this outfit is a lesson in combining trends with the beloved items that are already in your closet for a cost-efficient and sustainable approach to style. It’s all about balance!
