Julia Garner Serves Face (and Silk Scarves) in the 2025 Gucci ‘Art of Silk’ Campaign

Julia Garner Serves Face (and Silk Scarves) in the 2025 Gucci ‘Art of Silk’ Campaign

It’s just been a little of two months that Sabato De Sarno announced his not-so-unexpected departure from Gucci (with Demna having already been announced as his replacement). To say De Sarno’s campaigns as creative director were somewhat uneventful would be an understatement. An understatement of epic proportions. The first campaign post De Sarno’s exit is here, with the powers that be at Gucci HQ enlisting the legendary Steven Meisel as campaign photographer. The Kering-owned Italian fashion label calls upon Julia Garner to becoming the face of the 2025 Gucci “The Art of Silk” campaign. The imagery shines a spotlight and celebrates Gucci’s heritage in silk – honoring the iconic Gucci scarves which have become an emblem of craftsmanship since the 1950s.

“To be honest, I love it,” immediately expressed RMDV upon checking out the campaign.

“I had high hopes and it didn’t disappoint me,” shared kokobombon.

“Meisel for Gucci? I’m shocked!” exclaimed forum member DK92.

“Lovely, but entirely forgettable. I’m surprised to see him at Gucci for the first time and while I really don’t expect this collaboration to continue, I’d be interested in seeing more of Gucci through his lens. Perhaps he could’ve been the saving grace of Sabato’s tenure from the start. Ah, well…” sighed aracic.

Also not exactly best impressed was carla56: “ATROCIOUS! This can’t be my Steven!”
