DWTS' Scott Hoying and Husband Mark Manio Expecting First Baby
Scott Hoying is dancing into a new chapter.
The Pentatonix singer and his husband Mark Manio Hoying revealed during the Oct. 14 episode of Dancing With the Stars that they are expecting their first baby together.
“We have one more piece of news for you: We’re having a baby,” Mark told Scott’s dance partner Rylee Arnold in a pre-performance video package. “Our surrogate is pregnant!”
Scott giddily added, “We’re gonna be dads.”
The couple—who tied the knot in 2023—emphasized their excitement to grow their family.
“We’ve dreamed of this our whole lives,” Mark continued. “Scott’s gonna be the best dad in the whole world.”
While noting it’s “crazy to say out loud” that he is becoming a father, Scott added, “I’m so excited to start a family with him. I just feel like we’re really, really lucky.”
And that same feeling of gratitude is why the a capella singer decided to honor his husband during this week’s Dedication Night by dancing the foxtrot to his own song “Parallel,” which he wrote about the night he fell in love with Mark.
“I am so in love with him, and I have been hoping we would make it to this week,” Scott shared during the episode. “I felt like I was always dating mean guys. When I met Mark, it felt like I could exhale. I could be myself.”
He continued, “What happens is your self-esteem starts to heal, and that starts to trickle into all areas of your life. He’s so special.”
And Mark gushed about how much Scott’s tribute to him meant.
“For him to dedicate this performance,” Mark said, “to a song he wrote about our love, I will treasure this for the rest of my life.”
During the Dancing With the Stars episode, the soon-to-be dads also announced their new phase of life on social media.
On a slow-mo video of Scott and Mark reacting with shock to a moment out of frame, the pair wrote, “The moment we found out we’re going to be dads.”
They captioned the Instagram post, “We’re having a baby.”
