Denise Welch admitted that Glastonbury Festival was "an incredible pride-filled wonderful event" but also said she'd never go again. The Loose Women panellist was a very proud parent after watching her son, Matty, perform during the Friday headline slot on the Pyramid Stage this year. Her son is the frontman of the English pop band The 1975, and also consists of Adam Hann, Ross MacDonald, and George Daniel. He is the son of Denise and Tim Healy, and he formed the band in 2002 with his schoolmates. The Glastonbury show would be The 1975's only gig in 2025, as confirmed by their manager and Dirty Hit label boss Jamie Oborne.

Speaking exclusively with Express Online, Denise was quizzed about her experience watching her son headline at the Glastonbury Festival. She said: "Watching my son and all of the band, you know, you've got to remember the whole band started in our garage when they were 13 years old.

"It was an incredible, pride-filled, wonderful event, but I am one and done. I look at all this stuff online this week with people going, 'My 15th year, can't wait for 2027' because it's resting next year. 2027, I think I'm done, I watched my son headline, and I'll never go again."

Denise also added: "I've got one son who's just headlined Glastonbury and one son who's played the lead in Stranger Things [stage production]. So I've made a lot of mistakes in my life, but I've done something right."

The 67-year-old also opened up about a doctor's warning she received after she gained two and a half stone. The Loose Women panellist shared her experience of quitting alcohol and being sober since 2013, but then said she "replaced alcohol with food".

She said: "Now, many people give up alcohol and lose weight. Sadly, I was the other way. I put on 2.5 stone because I replaced alcohol with food. So, of course, I gave up drinking, and all of the sugar that had flowed through my veins for all of those years had gone."

Denise added: "I was doing a play with Keith Allen in Kingston, and I tripped and fell on a bridge, and I went to see this doctor about my knee, and he said to me, 'You've got osteoarthritis in your knee, and you need to lose weight.'

"Anyway, it was a warning sign for me, and also my now husband had proposed to me, so I had a wedding that I was going to be planning for as well. So health-wise and aesthetically, I knew I needed to lose weight."

Speaking about LighterLife, Denise said: "I honed into LighterLife because it was about changing your relationship with food, and I realised that moving forward, I needed something more than a normal diet. I needed to change my behaviours."
