Blac Chyna Reveals Why She Called Off Engagement to Derrick Milano

Blac Chyna is sharing insight into her and Derrick Milano’s recent split.

Just over a month after the “Seen Her” rapper—who now goes by her real name Angela White—shared that she and the songwriter were calling off their engagement, she explained why they decided to go their separate ways.

“First of all, it was mutual, and I feel like sometimes in life people try to hold on to certain things but, I’m going in a different direction than Derrick,” she told Entertainment Tonight in a recent interview, “like we’re both doing our own things.”

And now, the 37-year-old—who shares son King Cairo, 12, with ex-fiancé Tyga as well as daughter Dream, 8, with ex-fiancé Rob Kardashian—is shifting her focus on healing and spending time with her family.

“I feel like I just really need to focus on myself and my kids,” she continued, “and my spirituality and everything that comes with that.”

As for where the former couple stands since calling off their engagement less than a year after Derrick popped the question onstage at Howard University’s homecoming celebration? Well, Angela assured her fans there is no bad blood between them.

“We’re really good friends still,” she insisted. “I’ll still call, ‘Hey you good? Is everything okay?’”

After all, there was no dramatic fight or scandal that led to their breakup.

“Nothing happened,” the musician shared. “Nobody cheated. It was like an ongoing thing—growing in different directions, for sure.”

“I feel like it’s really healthy,” she added. “Sometimes people stay in relationships too long. And then that’s toxic, and then you start to grow this hatred toward the next person.”

Beyond how she and Derrick are coping with the split, Angela also shared that her two kids have been “doing great.” In fact, they didn’t spend too much time with the music producer when they were together.

“I keep them out of it,” she said. “When Derrick was around, he would be at his house. I would just be with my kids myself. When my kids are there, its full mommy mode.”
