A Place In The Sun couple break down in tears after tense moment with presenter

A couple were left emotional during their property hunt in Cyprus on A Place In The Sun. Rick and Inge, a married pair, participated in the programme with the aim of finding their dream holiday home in Tala, Western Cyprus. Their criteria specified a detached villa within a budget of £260,000. They sought the assistance of host Jean Johansson to find the perfect place, also mentioning a 'mancave' as a must-have feature.
They desired a property with ample outdoor space as they planned to adopt cats. Jean presented them with five properties that closely matched their budget, kicking off the house search on a positive note, reports the Mirror. The first property they visited was a three-bedroom villa, slightly over their budget at £262,000. It boasted a pool, patio, artist's studio, and a bathroom.
Rick and Inge were fond of the remaining properties, with the fifth one emerging as their favourite.
Jean was confident she had kept the best for last, declaring: "I think this could possibly beat the others".
This three-bedroom bungalow featured a wraparound patio with sea views from the house, a spacious garden, and a roof terrace.
Although the couple found the property to be "just the right size" and "spacious, but cosy", it was priced above their budget at £282,000.
After much deliberation, Rick and Inge decided to make an offer on the property. However, they chose to go £10,000 below the asking price, offering £272,000.
Jean relayed the bid to the seller, leaving Rick and Inge on tenterhooks awaiting a response.
Presenter Jean appeared visibly anxious as she received a crucial call back, with Rick and Inge beside themselves with nerves.
After disconnecting the call, Jean turned to the couple and revealed: "Okay, I have some information for you. The offer... has been accepted."
An emotional wave struck Rick as he broke down in tears, while Inge embraced her tearful partner.
Jean congratulated the couple, saying: "Congratulations, you two have been such great company. I wish you the best of luck".
