GB News erupted in chaos as commentator Lizzie Cundy made an urgent demand for a general election after labelling the Labour government a "chaotic mess." She joined the Nana Akua show for a furious debate against former Labour adviser Paul Richards on whether the nation is being overtaxed. This comes after the Overnight Visitor Levy Bill, or Tourist Tax, was announced in the King's Speech last month for UK staycations.

Lizzie fumed: "You know Rachel Reeves, she gives in one hand and taketh away in the other, that's what she does. Rachel Reeves, Queen of the CV rewrites. When she stands up to speak, I get worried because I know something bad is going to happen, we're getting taxed and taxed." "That is why our highest people who earn so much money in this country and give back, pay so much tax, are leaving this country."

The columnist continued: "Our young entrepreneurs like my son are leaving the country; he went to Australia because they don't see a future here. There isn't any way out.

"Now we've got this travel tax, which I think is an absolute disgrace, it means there's going to be a £340 added to the average staycation. Which I find unbelievable of this Government, what are they not going to tax?"

Lizzie fumed: "They told us when they got into Government, they were not going to tax the working people ... if the Government were truthful about what they were going to do, they would've never got into power."

Addressing Rachel Reeves' 5% cut on summer attractions, the GB News guest added: "She said we're going to get £1 off going to the zoo, when our economy is falling off a cliff."

To which Nana scoffed: "It wasn't a zoo, it was museums as well," before bellowing with laughter.

Paul argued: "On the point of rich people leaving, lots of rich people are arriving, lots of Americans are arriving, so there's money coming in as well as coming out.

"On the small amounts of the destination charge, that money will go to revive some of our seaside towns, our tourist destinations. I think we should all be doing staycations, fewer flights abroad and more holidays here in the UK. Putting the money back into the local economy."

Paul hit back: "You're pooing Rachel saying 'here's a little bit of extra help, take the kids on a trip, have a trip,' as he questioned: "Why are you so negative about that, it's a perfectly nice thing to do."

In the clash, Lizzie retorted: "Because it's taxing, they won't be able to do it because they can't afford it." As the former Labour adviser interrupted: "It's a little bit of extra help for struggling families, and your first reaction is to say 'Oh no, it's a terrible idea,' it's not a terrible idea, it's a nice thing to do."

The socialite snapped back: "It is a terrible idea, and I'm afraid Labour aren't fit to govern or manage our money ... Labour are in a chaotic mess, we don't need a resignation, we don't need another resignation, what we need is a general election."
