Connie Britton, the acclaimed actress known for her powerful roles in Friday Night Lights and Nashville, is celebrating a joyful new chapter in her personal life.
Recently engaged to producer David Windsor, her journey to finding lasting love is a story of growth, partnership, and finally finding the right person at the right time.

Connie Britton’s first foray into marriage began with her college sweetheart, John Britton. The couple tied the knot in 1991 after meeting at Dartmouth College. However, after four years of marriage, they divorced in 1995.
Reflecting on that time, Britton has noted that she married young. “I was married at 24. When I look back, it seems young. I grew and changed a lot,” she told Redbook. She has acknowledged the difficulty of divorce but also indicated that their youth and the fact that they did not have children together helped them fare better than most. Following the divorce, she chose to keep her married name professionally, and the world came to know her as Connie Britton.
A Serendipitous Meeting with David WindsorAfter years of keeping her romantic life private, Britton’s story took a turn worthy of a Hollywood script. In November 2019, she attended a mutual friend’s 50th birthday party, where she initially didn’t know anyone.
She recalls her friend spotting someone across the room: “He looks past me and he sees David across the room and he is like, ‘There’s someone here you have to meet,’” Britton shared on SiriusXM’s Radio Andy. She immediately agreed, remembering, “I turned around and I looked at who he was pointing at and I was like, ‘Oh yeah, I want to meet him!’”

Despite the instant interest, Britton had to leave the party early to put her son to bed. As she was leaving, she told her friend, “You know what, just have him email me.” David Windsor, a writer and producer for shows like This Is Us and Not Dead Yet, did just that the very next day, setting the stage for their relationship.
